Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is a holistic treatment to restore movement and function following injury, illness, or due to disability. It can also act as a preventative treatment to reduce the risk of any future illness or injury.

Physiotherapy and sport injuries:

Physiotherapy can help musculoskeletal conditions which affect muscles, bones and soft tissue.

Common causes of sport injuries are:

  • Inadequate/inappropriate preparation for physical activity

  • Excessive training

  • Improper equipment

  • Incorrect technique

  • Insufficient rest and rehabilitation

  • Direct impact

The physiotherapist will assess and diagnose the problem and will help you to understand what is wrong and how to avoid further injuries. They will also work with you to develop an effective treatment plan, taking into account your lifestyle, leisure activities and your health.

Treatment includes:

  1. Soft tissue massage for improving circulation

  2. Joint and tissue mobilization

  3. Electro-therapy for pain relief and accelerating the healing process, including ultrasound and interferential therapy

  4. Stretching and strengthening exercises to bring you back to full recovery

The initial consultation and treatment will last 60 minutes.
Each subsequent session ranges from 30-60 minutes, depending on the patient’s condition.
